To achieve the highest possible availability, multiple i5 systems are tied together with high function, high availability software. Role swapping and running production work on the multiple systems are typical. In this multi-System i5 environment, generally an i5 High Availability system would be linked to an i5 system Enterprise Edition based on processor performance (CPW). What does it cost? System i5 High Availability offerings are price-advantaged compared to the Enterprise Edition. However, if there is no requirement for 5250 capability, a Standard Edition may provide greater price performance over High Availability offerings. |
